Navgraha Steels INC supports power-sector enquiries for boiler-quality carbon steel, chrome-moly steel and selected corrosion-resistant alloy flat products. Suitable material depends on the equipment, design pressure and temperature, service duration, creep requirement, water or process chemistry, fabrication route and governing code. India and export enquiries are reviewed against the full material requisition.
Power and industrial-heating projects can involve boilers, steam drums, boiler shells, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, condensers, feedwater systems, separators, tanks, ducts and structural supports. Material requirements vary between conventional thermal generation, captive power, industrial boilers, cogeneration, heat-recovery equipment and other energy projects.
Pressure alone does not determine the correct grade. Buyers must consider the design code, metal temperature, thickness, long-term creep exposure, thermal cycling, weldability, PWHT, corrosion, erosion, fatigue, water chemistry and inspection requirements. A pressure-vessel plate must not automatically be treated as a creep-controlled elevated-temperature material.
| Equipment or Service | Main Concern | Material Route to Evaluate | Buyer Must Confirm |
|---|---|---|---|
| Boiler drums and approved lower-temperature pressure equipment | Pressure, toughness and welding | SA 516 Grade 60 or Grade 70 | Code, thickness, condition, impact requirement and MTC |
| Steam drums, headers or elevated-temperature pressure equipment | Temperature, PWHT and creep design | SA 387 Grade 11 or Grade 12 Class 2; 16Mo3 where specified | Design temperature, allowable stress, PWHT and fabrication route |
| Higher-temperature chrome-moly equipment | Long-term creep and heat treatment | SA 387 Grade 22 or Grade 91 Class 2 | Service duration, heat treatment, welding and inspection |
| Corrosive auxiliary equipment | Acidic condensate, chlorides or oxidation | Hastelloy C276, Hastelloy C22, Inconel 625 or Alloy 825 where justified | Actual medium, concentration, temperature and approval |
| Platforms and general fabricated structures | Structural loading and exposure | ASTM A36 or S275JR where suitable | Structural code, coating, load case and environment |
SA 516 grades may be evaluated for approved boiler, drum, vessel, separator and heat-exchanger applications where the code and service conditions support their use. Final selection must consider toughness, thickness, forming, welding, heat treatment and certification requirements.
Chrome-moly routes may be considered where elevated-temperature performance is required. SA 387 Grade 11, Grade 12, Grade 22, Grade 91 and EN 16Mo3 have different chemical, mechanical, heat-treatment and service characteristics. They must not be represented as direct equivalents. Grade 91 is a creep-strength-enhanced ferritic route that needs particular control of delivery condition, welding, PWHT and inspection.
Engineering alloys such as 4140, 4130, 4340, EN19, EN24 and 42CrMo4 should be selected only where the component design and product specification require them. Plate, sheet and coil supply does not automatically cover turbine shafts, rotor bars, tubes, pipes, forgings, castings or completed equipment.
Power-project procurement may require documentation beyond a standard MTC. The exact requirement must be included in the RFQ and agreed before ordering.
Navgraha Steels INC reviews available stock and Indian or imported mill-sourcing options against the required grade, form, dimensions, quantity, certificates and project conditions. The actual mill, origin and supporting material documents must be confirmed in the quotation and against the relevant MTC.
Subject to specification and commercial feasibility, support may include plate, sheet and coil supply; cut-to-size, profiling, shearing, slitting, edge preparation and agreed marking; and heat-number traceability through agreed processing. Documentation review, third-party inspection coordination, domestic transport, export logistics, packing and shipping documents can be arranged within the accepted order scope.
Small, bulk and project enquiries are reviewed subject to availability, MOQ and mill programme. Urgent dispatch can only be discussed after the material, documents, processing, payment and destination are confirmed.
For Mumbai, India and export orders, send the delivery city, country or port, quantity, required date, Incoterm, packing instructions and inspection-release requirements. Freight mode, preservation, export documentation and shipment planning depend on the confirmed order scope and destination conditions.
Power-sector material pricing depends on grade, governing specification, product form, dimensions, quantity, delivery condition, mill or origin, testing, certification, processing, packing, freight, currency and destination.
Send your material requisition, equipment name, governing code, grade, dimensions, quantity, temperature, tests, approved-mill requirement and delivery destination. Navgraha Steels INC will review the enquiry and identify applicable material, sourcing options, documentation, processing and commercial terms.
